How to navigate in cPanel’s File Manager

The File Manager is your web-based tool for managing site files without FTP software .

  • Navigation: Use the left-side folder tree to browse directories. The public_html folder is where your live website files must be placed .
  • Tools: The top toolbar allows you to Upload, Download, Edit, and Extract (unzip) files directly in your browser.
  • Hidden Files: To see .htaccess or other hidden files, click Settings in the top-right corner and check Show Hidden Files (dotfiles).
