I changed my server IP address, do I need to reissue the certificate?

In most cases, no. SSL certificates are typically bound to your domain name, not a specific IP address.

  • As long as your domain name remains the same and you still have access to the original Private Key on the new server, the certificate will continue to work.
  • However, if the move to a new IP involves a new server environment where you cannot import your old private key, you will then need to perform a reissue with a new CSR .
